The application has been developed in a joint project between Nokia, Tampere University and the Finnish Federation of the Visually Impaired. Compatibility and system requirements
Compatible with Nokia devices based on S60 5th Edition, including Nokia N97 and Nokia 5800 XpressMusic and the newly released N97 mini, 5530, 5230 and X6. User instructions Starting the application
Open the Nokia Braille Application by pressing the phones menu key and selecting applications. Find the braille application icon, touch it to start the application.
Tip: you can have the braille application included into the quick access bar in the phone home screen.
Once the application starts you can hide it by pressing the hide key at the bottom left of the key board. The application then runs in the background The main menu of the Nokia Braille Reader
The main screen of the application is split into three areas, top, middle and bottom.
The top area has two function areas in it. The left one contains the text to be read. This is usually the text message, but clicking the area opens a text editor for free text input. The top right area is the area to press to start reading the text.
The middle area of the main screen is a test area that can be used to verify the application actually is running. Touching it will give two short buzzes of the vibra motor to indicate the application is actually running.
The bottom area of the main screen contains three function keys. The left bottom corner has a area that hides the application into back ground processing mode. In the middle section of the bottom area there is a non functional area. In the bottom right corner there is a small exit key to close the application and right above that key there is a settings key that opens the set-up menu of the application. Reading a text message
When a text message arrives, Nokia Braille Reader automatically open its main view. The text message is located into a text box on the top left of the screen. To read it, press the upper right hand corner of the device. The application gives a short buzz to acknowledge moving into text reading mode. To read, press down with a finger anywhere on the screen, except for the back to menu area at the very bottom center of the display. Once the first character is read the reading pauses. Lift your finger briefly and press it back down to proceed reading the next character. If you lift your finger off the screen in the middle of reading the character the reading pauses and continues when you repalce your finger. You can also use the volume control keys on the side of the device to move forward and back between the characters. There is an empty character between words. At the end of the message lifting your finger and pressing it back down will give a long buzz. To go back to the main menu press the back to menu area at the very bottom center of the screen. How the SW reads braille
The Vibrating motor in the phone reads the Braille character out dot by dot, you feel a sharp pulse when a raised dot is present and a soft one when the dot is not raised. There is a pause between letters and a longer one between words, a longer buzz indicates the end of the message. The speed of reading and the lengths of the pauses can be controlled from the settings menu. The setting access area is in the main menu at the bottom right just above the exit key.
The Airport Touch is about guiding big airplanes to one landing strip and small planes to the other one without colliding with each other. This game works on Nokia s60v5 phones such as the Nokia 5800, N97 and the 5530. The price for this app is 2 Euro and you can buy it from OVI Store.
The Omnia looks like gdesk application If you have tried the iDesk you must have known about this applications. This one is created by A.R.A. First Download the GDesk software and its all plugins. Then copy the .gdd design to your memory card. Open GDesk(Touch Everywhere)choose DESIGN>> LOAD DESIGN and select the .gdd file from your memory card.
The Converter Touch application for the Nokia 5800, N97 and 5530 is a converter that converts many different units such as lengths, volumes, speed etc. This app is in my opinion another “must have” application for the S60v5 phones.
This one is 'must have' application for nokia 5800.This application can converts many different unit such as length, speed, volume, etc. It is also applicable for nokia N 97 and Nokia 5530...
1. Completely touch-screen 2. iPhone Home/Desktop 3. 84 icons, 88x88, 5 pages 4. Instant access to dialer 5. Landscape mode 6. Alphabetical order 7. Fully customizable 8. Fast and takes little memory 9. FREE (except for nUnlock $5)
course, this was just possible by combining the great apps described below. All the best for their creators.
Download ------------- 1. Go to http://mrmilk.4shared.com (or just download them from the attachments below) 2. Open the folder iTube 3. Download all the files
If you happen to have the same or a newer version, you don't need to reinstall such application. That's why I didn't pack it all in a single file.
Install and Setup ---------------------- 1. Unzip GDesk s60v5 0.33g.zip. Install GDesk.0.33g.sis, GDeskClockS60.0.33g.sis and GDeskInfoViewS60.0.33g.sis. The other plugins are not needed for the iPhone look. 2. Unzip GDesk iTube by Milk.zip and copy the file GDesk iTube by Milk.gdd to any folder on your phone card or internal memory. 3. Run GDesk. Tap anywhere on the screen and choose Load Design. Select the file GDesk iTube by Milk.gdd. Tap again anywhere and select Done. 4. This is very important: tap again on an empty area, choose Options and make sure the following (and ONLY the following) itens are checked: Replace Main, Full Screen, Long Flick, List System Apps, Left soft key: close, Hide title caption, Remember Last Menus, Disable Menu Tap, in this order (see the screenshot below). 5. Now you must have the iPhone home/desktop ready to use. 6. If you want the slide unlocking app, google for "nUnlock v2", download and install it. It's a pretty straight forward process. 7. For the menus and general system dialogs, unzip and install the theme iPhone 5th by Dsma.zip. 8. Finally, I recommend unzipping and installing JBak Taskman 1.13.zip. Among other things, you can have it autorun GDesk and nUnlock (buggy autostart setting) on phone boot.
Customization ------------------ 1. You may have noticed that I didn't mention the WFvirtualKeyboard 0.9.4.rar. This application emulates a hardware keyboard, not presente on 5800. For customization you must install it. 2. The Disable Menu Tap item in GDesk is needed so that you can use GDesk without tap conflicts. But when it is active, you can't access the menu unless you press the right-softkey. So, VirtualKey is just for that. 3. Open VirtualKey, choose any keyboard layout and press the right-softkey. On GDesk menu, choose Design. You may now close VirtualKey. 4. To move an icon just click on it and drag it around. To replace its application, click on the icon and choose Replace App on the menu. 5. To add new icons, click on an empty area and choose Add App. Notice that icons are all 88x88 pixels and were manually added by me (with the option Set Icon). Currently, GDesk largest icon option is not large enough for my liking. Icons are in alphabetical order but there is no magic, you must do it manually. 6. Ideas for having 88x88 icons are downloading or extracting icons from operating systems, libraries or even themes and then resizing them.
Help/More Info ------------------- 1. This only works either if your phone is hacked or if you have your own certicate and sign the applications. If you don't know what I'm talking about look for "Certificate Error" on this forum. 2. For more info about GDesk go to this thread http://forum.dailymobile.se/index.php/topic,4089.0.html 3. Info about installing and using WFVirtualKey is easily found by googling it. 4. My current setup is 5800XM RM-356 FW 30.0.011, hacked. 61.5MB RAM free after boot (with nUnlock, iPhone theme, JBak and GDesk iTube loaded).

Do you have so many themes on your phone?? For those who likes to change themes a lot then this application is very helpful. It creates shortcut that go directly to theme list..so you dont have to go to setting - personalise- themes etc..
All credits to Neuvex for creating this application ..thx..
When the lights went off then what is the first thing you're looking for??? TORCH..rite?? What if you dont have it?But you have nokia 5800? :P YOu should not be worried now...
Light up your device, you can use it as a torch! Turn on the camera flash by sliding the on-screen switch.
Key Lock Clock is a free Clock application that is shown while the device's key lock is on. The idea was inspired by the feature found from E71 & E66.
Very simple to use, just click the application icon, set the "Clock screen" on, exit the application and lock the key lock normally. Note that the Clock screen runs in a separate background process, thus any changes made to the settings are effective only after you exit the UI application.
The clock screen lights will not be set on when the keys are locked, since most of the time when device is locked it is not meant to be used, thus to get the lights on you need to press the switcher button (that is used for switching between menu and home screen), also with non-touch devices, the arrow keys can be used for this purpose.
Note that by default the light will go out in 1 second, if longer timeout is needed, then you can set it with settings options between 1 sec and 3599 (1 hour) seconds.
Additionally this application can be used as a Table clock when the charger is connected, to enable this feature just set the "Lights on while charging" on. Also if you think that the screen lights are too bright, you can adjust it with the "Lights intensity" option.
The font in the clock screen can be changed with settings option, please note that some fonts (that usually have word "digi" in them) might only include characters numbers, thus using 12-hour clock with them would cause am/pm to be shown as empty rectangles, not a bug, but a feature of some specific fonts really.
As additional feature this application also includes automated key locker, if this feature is needed, just set it on and set the timeout for idle time out(when user is not interacting with the device) for automatically locking the keyboard.
This version was designed 5th edition touch devices such as 5800 & N97 in mind, but should work just as well with all Symbian S60 3rd edition non-touch devices.
* Total rewrite of timer code. Now it works in background, sort of. You see, flash applications dont’t work on bakckround or when phone is locked and there’s nothing I can do with that. But now when Time Machine is brought to foreground or phone is unlocked it finds out the right time and jumps straight to there. This works well when counting up but when counting down it can pass the zero without alarming. * Clock mode. Just normal 24h clock. * New ultramodern user interface with five different stylish colors. You can change between interfaces by cliking the blinking ligth when it’s not blinking. * Option to choose clicking sound and/or vibration (or nothing) when pressing buttons. * Finally managed to fix the sound volume problem, now you can blow you ears out.
From the name you can see that this application is a theme scheduler So you can schedule your theme. This application is a great tool for those who have soooo many favorite themes on the phone and they are confused how can I apply all this themes?? :P Am I right? So guys this is your way out...Enjoy!! This application is unsigned so you have to sign it first!
new version 1.03 featuring *The Settings*. Now you can change:
- alarm tone, there's original ringing sound and... well, "modern" beep - alarm volume - alarm style, now you can choose if it rings only once or forever. That's 50 times actually, but it feels forever. Stop it by pressing Stop button...
